Position: Retail Associate - Nights/Part-time

Classification: Non-exempt/hourly

Reports to: Night Retail Shift Supervisor, Retail Store Manager

Objectives: Work as part of a cohesive, supportive team to close out store operations at the end of the business day. Assist in the resetting of customer facing and backroom operations to set the store up for operations the following day.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning

  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors in retail store.
  • Wipe all hard surfaces on retail floor; register area, shelves, display cases, furniture.
  • Refreshing dressing rooms. Wiping down all surfaces, sweeping, clean mirrors.
  • Clean all glass windows and doors.
  • Collect and remove trash and recycling.
  • Clean and restock restrooms.
  • Maintain the store in a safe, clean, and neat manner.

Organizing and Sorting

  • Restocking of store, hanging clothes and stocking hard goods that have been sorted and priced or from dressing room returns.
  • Organize shoes, books, and other hard goods, straightening for presentable display.
  • Prep clothes for next days restock. Take sorted clothes, place on hangers, and organize on racks.
  • Reorganize clothing departments to back to correct group sizing display.
  • Remove unsold clearance items as directed.

Other

  • Participate in staff meetings and training.
  • Other duties at the discretion of the Retail Store Manager and Retail Director.

Pay Rate: $16.11+ per hour

Benefits: Part-time employees are eligible to enroll in the company 401k plan after 90 days of employment. Part-time Employees are also eligible for accrual of Paid Time Off.

Minimum Requirements

  • Positive, compassionate attitude and strong desire to help others.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Retail experience helpful.
  • Responsible, respectful approach to the job and the team.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting.
  • Willingness to provide information for background check processing.

Experience: Previous experience working in retail and customer service is preferred.

Cognitive Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and donors. The employee is frequently required to use written communication and is occasionally required to use math skills. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to be on their feet, walking and standing. The employee is frequently required to reach, handle (hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hand or hands), finger (picking, pinching, fine manipulation). The employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb stairs, push, and pull. The employee is rarely required to crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, twist, stretch and sit. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move between 25-50lbs and minimally required to lift and/or move between 50-100+lbs.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be continuously exposed to noise and will occasionally be exposed to fumes (cleaning solutions) and dust (from sweeping and dusting). The employee will also experience various seasonal temperatures while performing cleaning duties like removing trash and cleaning doors and windows. The sorting area has some environmental control but is exposed to outside temperatures when doors are open.
